Dell PowerVault MD3060e -- three available

  • 4U tall 60 disk SAS 2 (6Gbps x 4 lanes) attached JBOD enclosure
  • Accepts 60 2.5 inch ("small form factor") SSDs or spinning hard drives. 60 disk trays included

  • most hardware components (drives, controllers, fan modules, power supplies) are hot swappable. The internal backplane is not.
  • Final release firmware is installed (03.9F) on the interface modules (EMMs)
  • The interface modules (EMMs) do have Ethernet connections. They are configured for DHCP. Using them is strictly optional. No Ethernet is required to put this to use.
  • 208/220/240 Volt power is required. Normal US household 110/120 Volt power will not do the job.
  • Physically larger than most servers. This will require extra depth in your rack. 32.5 inches deep
  • This is a JBOD (just a bunch of disks) device. A server connected to it will see 60 individual storage drives (if installed) and the enclosure itself. There is no hardware RAID.

Aruba Networks Mobility Access Switch 3500 (MAS 3500) -- four available

  • 48 port 10/100/1000baseT Ethernet switches
  • Four 10Gbits/sec SFP+ ports in each. 2 of these ports are configured by the factory for stacking. But the stack functionality can be disabled them. So your choice: Two 10Gbits/sec server ports and two switch stacking ports, or three and one, or four server ports.

  • two 600 Watt power supplies available -- these are the standard C14 connector input you'd find on most any computer
